What classes do you currently participate in?
Senior Energize and Diabetes 3 -5 x a week, and for about 1 year now.
Other physical activity I like to do is take walks.
I feel a lot better when I exercise. I have not lost a ton of weight but I’ve lost some pounds, inches mostly. I was so out of shape, now I feel I’ve built muscle and toned. I look forward to being strong enough to intensify my workouts and lose some more weight in the next year. I have already been able to reduce my diabetes medication and have taken in two notches on my belt.
No matter what your current physical condition, you will feel better as you become more active. Don’t feel embarrased about not being able to do things or keep up. The policy is do what you can at your pace stop when it's to much. I had to use a chair when I started. I had to sit down often and then hold onto the chair for balance exercises. I don't use a chair anymore.
I feel so much better that I've reduced my diabetes medication, I've increased my energy level. I am stronger and steadier on my feet since taking classes. I have a bad back arthritis. I have almost eliminated my back pain. I'm still pretty stiff and have not lost much weight but look forward to being more flexible in the next year and being able to start losing more weight. I have eliminated all of my pain in my right shoulder. These are positive health changes to keep me going and I hope motivate you do start regular physical activity program here at the Omni.
